Soccer Game Preview: Berkmar vs. North Gwinnett

Berkmar is 0-4 against North Gwinnett since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. Berkmar will be playing at home against North Gwinnett at 5:30 p.m.

Berkmar is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 3-0 to Norcross. While losing is never fun, Berkmar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Norcross are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, North Gwinnett kept a clean sheet against Peachtree Ridge on Friday. They blew past the Lions 10-0. The result was nothing new for North Gwinnett, who have now won nine contests by five goals or more so far this season.

North Gwinnett has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 60 goals over those nine matches. Berkmar's loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Berkmar might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from North Gwinnett in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Berkmar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
