Volleyball Recap: Piute Comes Up Short

Piute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Piute started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 28-26.

Shae King was a one-woman wrecking crew For Gunnison Valley. as she had 20 digs and two assists. That's the most digs King has posted since back in October of 2024.

Piute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Gunnison Valley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Piute will head out on the road to take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gunnison Valley, they will host Juab at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
