Basketball Recap: Franklin Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Franklin Christian Academy played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen, falling 57-32. The Falcons have struggled against the Minutemen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Road Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lakelyn Dempsey, who posted ten points along with 14 boards, 11 assists, and 11 steals. Dempsey is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Tidwell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.

Franklin Christian Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Franklin Road Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Christian Academy and Middle Tennessee Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin Road Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Boyd Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
