Softball Recap: Staples-Motley Takes a Loss

Staples-Motley managed to slip by Barnesville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals came up short against the Trojans on Thursday, falling 10-4. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 10-8.

Staples-Motley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliviah Lorber, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI. Jade Storry was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Staples-Motley moved to 7-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Barnesville, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Staples-Motley will host Pillager at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Barnesville, they will take on Perham at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
