Hazen was sadly handed a defeat on Monday, but Sam Nicholson did his best to prevent it. Nicholson wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his fifth straight with two or fewer walks.
