Elkhorn Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors 67-26 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Elkhorn Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Black out in front who shot 75% from the field to rack up 20 points and six steals. Those 20 points gave Black a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Korbin Werner, who went 6-for-8 en route to 12 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Neligh-Oakdale saw an underclassman step up: freshman Trevan Torres shot 40% from the field on his way to 21 points.

Neligh-Oakdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
