Basketball Game Preview: Yates Center Wildcats vs. Marmaton Valley Wildcats

Last Tuesday, Yates Center was fully in charge, breezing past Southern Coffey County 53-20. That looming 53-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Meanwhile, Marmaton Valley hadn't done well against Altoona-Midway recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Marmaton Valley really took it to Altoona-Midway for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-38 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

Marmaton Valley pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Yates Center, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
