Volleyball Recap: Seckman Comes Up Short

Seckman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayless Bronchos. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bronchos earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Seckman took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 24-26, 25-15, 15-7.

Dominic Barbagallo paced Seckman's offense, picking up 11 kills. Barbagallo got some help from Keaton Hutsell and his 19 assists.

Seckman's loss dropped their record down to 6-21-1. As for Bayless, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Seckman will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Parkway Central at 5:30 p.m. As for Bayless, they will square off against Affton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
