Preview: Woodlake Tigers vs. Granite Hills Grizzlies
Woodlake has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Granite Hills Grizzlies at TBD on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Woodlake didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Laton, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. The win was just what Woodlake needed coming off of a 44-22 loss in their prior game.
Woodlake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Avilez led the charge by scoring 12 points. Avilez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Hugo Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Wonderful College Prep Academy 49-27. The victory was just what Granite Hills needed coming off of a 66-36 loss in their prior matchup.
The losses dropped Woodlake to 2-3 and Laton to 0-8.
Woodlake was taken down by Granite Hills 84-42 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Woodlake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
