The North Davidson Black Knights will take on the Oak Grove Grizzlies on Tuesday. North Davidson is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
North Davidson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Franklin as they made off with a 9-3 victory. The Black Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Rileigh Barker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Barker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Sears, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove got themselves on the board against Pisgah on Friday, but Pisgah never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Bears 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
The result came thanks to Mary Peyton Hodge's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Oak Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eleanor Potter, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Oak Grove's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for North Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Davidson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Oak Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Davidson came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Grove in their previous matchup last Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Black Knights repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
