Softball Recap: West Shamokin Wolves vs. Indiana Little Indians

West Shamokin's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Indiana Little Indians by a score of 14-11. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Little Indians, too.

Leah Mondi was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Mondi was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, West Shamokin got a massive performance out of Maya McIlwian, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave McIlwian a new career-high in hits (two). Cameron Vandervort was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

West Shamokin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
