Soccer Game Preview: Bowie vs. Ysleta

The Bowie Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Ysleta Indians at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Bowie got the win against Irvin by a conclusive 6-1. Bowie haven't had any issues with Irvin recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Bowie hit Irvin with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabriel Gualito (2), David Cadena (2), Jeshua Aldaba, and Giovanni Grado.

Meanwhile, Ysleta made easy work of Fabens on Tuesday and carried off a 4-1 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Ysleta's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Fabens are ranked 522nd).

The win got Ysleta back to even at 3-3. As for Bowie, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Bowie couldn't quite get it done against Ysleta in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
