Volleyball Recap: Pratt Takes a Loss

Pratt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nickerson Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Pratt started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Mica Stapleton paced Pratt's offense, picking up ten kills. Stapleton got some help from Emry Myers and her 16 assists. Kaylee Western and Avery Fuhr kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Pratt's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Nickerson, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.

Pratt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Smoky Valley on the 16th. As for Nickerson, they will host St. John on Thursday.
