Basketball Recap: New Madrid County Central Comes Up Short

New Madrid County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 80-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kelly Hawks. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Despite the loss, New Madrid County Central still got an impressive performance from Ra'Mond Brooks, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brooks a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Jayden Williams, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, New Madrid County Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

New Madrid County Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Kelly, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

As of now, neither New Madrid County Central nor Kelly have any future games scheduled.
