Softball Recap: Emerson Comes Up Short

Emerson managed to slip by Lafayette County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 13-3 to the Cougars on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 10-9.

This is the second loss in a row for Emerson and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Lafayette County, their record now sits at 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Emerson is set to square off against their familiar foe Columbia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lafayette County will challenge rival Bradley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
