Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklin Community walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Columbus East Olympians on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzly Cubs in their matchups with the Olympians: they've now won five in a row.

Rose Mahin paced Franklin Community's offense, picking up 20 kills. Mahin got some help from Karlin Burton and her 29 assists. Burton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Franklin Community's win bumped their record up to 23-7. As for Columbus East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.

Franklin Community has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Columbus North on the 18th. Columbus East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
