Baseball Game Preview: Lake Havasu Knights vs. Mohave Thunderbirds

The Lake Havasu Knights will square off against the Mohave Thunderbirds at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lake Havasu is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Chaparral just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 17-7 to the Wolverines. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this contest were averaging 3.92 runs allowed.

Brock Cross was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Colton Rohn, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Mohave's offense. They came up short against Prescott on Saturday, falling 15-0. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mohave's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lake Havasu, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Lake Havasu took their victory against Mohave when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Lake Havasu repeat their success, or does Mohave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
