Baseball Recap: New Iberia Takes a Loss

New Iberia came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lafayette Lions by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

New Iberia's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Lafayette, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-12.

New Iberia and Lafayette should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Yellowjackets (ranked 92nd) will meet Franklin (ranked 200th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lafayette will challenge Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (95 vs. 231).
