Baseball Recap: MICDS Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

MICDS fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Clayton on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

James Snyder was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brian Gould was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

MICDS' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MICDS will take on Lutheran South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clayton, they will challenge Ladue Horton Watkins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
