It was a good run, but Brookville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amherst County Lancers. Surprisingly, this marked the Bees' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Brookville's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Amherst County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brookville will square off against rival Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amherst County is set to face off against their familiar foe Rustburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 3.4, the Red Devils 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
