Recap: Creighton Bulldogs vs. Bloomfield Bees

The Creighton Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomfield. While losing is never fun, Creighton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Bloomfield is ranked 112th).

Layne Warrior continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bloomfield, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Warrior has scored at least 25% of Bloomfield's points. Another player making a difference was Wiley Ziegler, who scored 15 points along with four steals.

Creighton has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creighton and Chambers/Wheeler Central will face off on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chambers/Wheeler Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Bloomfield and Hartington-Newcastle will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Hartington-Newcastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
