Volleyball Recap: Arizona College Prep Knights vs. Chaparral Firebirds
After flying high against Chandler two weeks ago, Arizona College Prep came back down to earth. The Arizona College Prep Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chaparral Firebirds on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 21-25, 25-17, 25-18.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christina Kuang, who had nine digs and four aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Pilon, who had four digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Arizona College Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.
Arizona College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Chaparral, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Arizona College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Canyon del Oro on the 4th. As for Chaparral, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Desert Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on October 16th.
