After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Vincent-St. Mary, Euclid was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 78-65 win over the Mentor Cardinals. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mentor lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tony Katava, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Bernard Gnjatic, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Euclid's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Mentor, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Euclid will take on Lorain in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mentor, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-59 win against GlenOak on the 13th.
