Basketball Recap: Coppell Takes a Loss

Coppell was the 66-63 winner over Guyer when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Coppell Cowboys took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guyer Wildcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Wildcats are ranked seventh).

This is the second loss in a row for Coppell and nudges their season record down to 11-14. As for Guyer, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.

Coppell is taking a road trip to challenge Little Elm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Elm will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Coppell surely won't give up without a fight. As for Guyer, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hebron at 7:00 p.m. Guyer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Hebron likes a good challenge.
