Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Jets vs. Deshler Dragons

The Sterling Jets will venture away from home to face off against the Deshler Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Sterling is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Exeter-Milligan/Friend on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sterling lost 48-25 to Exeter-Milligan/Friend.

Meanwhile, Deshler came up short against Silver Lake on Friday, falling 44-18.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Deshler, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Sterling was dealt a bruising 52-22 defeat at the hands of Deshler in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Sterling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
