Baseball Recap: Lone Peak Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Lone Peak was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyridge Falcons. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

Grady Slesk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dallin Scharmann was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Lone Peak's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Skyridge, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

While Lone Peak had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
