Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Aucilla Christian's Third in Last Four Outings

St. John Paul II typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Aucilla Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Panthers back in February, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Aucilla Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Gamalero, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The Warriors are undefeated when Gamalero posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Trey Roberts was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Aucilla Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. John Paul II, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.
