Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nokomis). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Gardiner Tigers on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Bubar, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jeff Carr also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Nokomis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Nokomis' record now sits at 2-4. As for Gardiner, their record is now 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nokomis will host Dirigo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gardiner, they will welcome Lawrence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Tigers' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Bulldogs have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
