Basketball Recap: Jenna Schier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flagler over Genoa-Hugo/Karval + How To Watch

Flagler was the 42-27 winner over Genoa-Hugo/Karval when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates on Thursday. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Schier, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and five assists. Sydnie Berry also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Rylee Corn, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kazlei Vaughn was another key player, putting up six points along with seven boards and seven steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Flagler fell to 3-1. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, their record now sits at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Flagler won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they will venture away from home to square off against Hi-Plains at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
