Baseball Recap: Mission San Jose Takes a Loss

Mission San Jose had lost 12 straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-18 to make it 13. They lost 11-0 to the Moreau Catholic Mariners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Wednesday.

As for Moreau Catholic, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Moreau Catholic's part, they let Micah Marks and Isaiah Clendinen run wild. Marks went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Clendinen went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Marks also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Broadus, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Mission San Jose didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-4 loss against James Logan on the 7th. As for Moreau Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Miramonte on the 5th.
