Baseball Game Preview: South Putnam Eagles vs. Cloverdale Clovers

For the first time this season, South Putnam will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Cloverdale Clovers at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Putnam is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 22 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Owen Valley on Tuesday. They lost 8-1 to the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cloverdale's offense. They came up short against West Vigo on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The Clovers haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cloverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for South Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

South Putnam beat Cloverdale 4-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Clovers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
