Volleyball Recap: Philip Simmons Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Philip Simmons had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Fort Dorchester Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Iron Horses were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Philip Simmons sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 28-26.

Philip Simmons will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Socastee at 9:30 a.m. on October 18. As for Fort Dorchester, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 25th.
