It was fun while it lasted, but Mariner's undefeated season came to an end after nine games on Friday. They fell just short of the North Fort Myers Red Knights by a score of 3-2. The Tritons were probably out for revenge after losing 1-0 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mariner's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for North Fort Myers, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Mariner and North Fort Myers should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Mariner (ranked 16th) will meet Fort Myers (ranked 179th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.7 goals per game this season. Similarly, North Fort Myers will challenge Island Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 482 places (25 vs. 507).
