New Trier came tearing into Saturday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hoffman Estates Hawks a 10-0 shutout. The Trevians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

New Trier's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
