Softball Recap: Chester Comes Up Short

Chester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Beacon Bulldogs. The Hambletonians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 14-0.

Chester's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Beacon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chester will square off against Wallkill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hambletonians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Beacon, they will challenge Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
