Recap: Tyngsborough Tigers vs. Gardner Wildcats

The Tyngsborough Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-26 victory over Gardner. Tyngsborough might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 27 points or more this season.

Bryce Goulet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 122 yards on only ten carries, while also throwing for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Goulet is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Tim Guilmette also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Gardner still got an impressive performance from Alexavier Figueroa, who threw for 165 yards and four touchdowns.

Tyngsborough's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.6 points per game. As for Gardner, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-1.

Tyngsborough will head out on the road to face off against Uxbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Uxbridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Tyngsborough likes a good challenge. As for Gardner, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Oakmont Regional at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Oakmont Regional is ranked 172nd, while Gardner is ranked 167th).
