Basketball Recap: Boerne-Champion Chargers vs. Wagner Thunderbirds
Boerne-Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Wagner Thunderbirds at home by a 68-54 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-56 back in December of 2024.
Despite the loss, Boerne-Champion still got an impressive performance from Logan Scott, who went 8 of 15 en route to 19 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Peck, who posted 12 points.
It was another big night for Marcus Johnson, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 20 points and seven assists for Wagner. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in November of 2024. Jordan Thomas was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.
