Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

The Independence 76ers came up short against the Whitehall-Yearling Rams on Saturday and fell 5-1. The 76ers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Whitehall-Yearling, with the win, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will host West at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something the 76ers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they will face off against Worthington Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
