Soccer Game Preview: Cleveland vs. McMinn Central

The Cleveland Blue Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the McMinn Central Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Cleveland came up short against McMinn County and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that Cleveland have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, McMinn Central got the win against Sequoyah on Thursday by a conclusive 6-1. The result was nothing new for McMinn Central, who have now won seven matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Macy Knox and Brylee Cooley scored all six of McMinn Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 37 goals.

McMinn Central now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Cleveland, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Cleveland beat McMinn Central by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Raiders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
