Softball Game Preview: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves vs. Peninsula Panthers

The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves will head out to square off against the Peninsula Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Wiseburn- Da Vinci came up short against Mira Costa and fell 7-3.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Veal, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Peninsula didn't have quite enough to beat Mira Costa on Wednesday and fell 6-5.

Frances Toman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Emily Gonzalez was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Peninsula's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wiseburn- Da Vinci hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. It's a different story for Peninsula, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Wiseburn- Da Vinci's hitters?

Wiseburn- Da Vinci came out on top in a nail-biter against Peninsula in their previous matchup on April 4th, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
