Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

Halifax Academy lost against Wilson Christian Academy back in February of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Halifax Academy Vikings fell 39-31 to the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Chargers are ranked 122nd).

Despite the defeat, Halifax Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Karson Ricks posted nine points and four steals.

Halifax Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Wilson Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Halifax Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thales Academy Rolesville at 5:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. After both having extra time off, Wilson Christian Academy and Wake Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
