Olliver Davis leads a balanced attack to beat Broken Bow

Recap: Cozad Haymakers vs. Broken Bow Indians

The Cozad Haymakers entered their tilt with the Broken Bow Indians with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Cozad enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over Broken Bow on Thursday. Given Cozad's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Broken Bow is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cozad got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olliver Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kellen Shoemaker, who scored 14 points along with four steals.

Cozad has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Broken Bow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Cozad will be playing in front of their home fans against McCook at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Broken Bow, they will head out on the road to take on Amherst on Friday.
