Recap: La Plata Warriors vs. McDonough Rams
The La Plata Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 54-44 to McDonough. La Plata has not had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, La Plata saw an underclassman step up: Aniyah Sisco scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Parker, who scored 11 points.
La Plata dropped their record down to 4-13 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for McDonough, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
La Plata is on the road again on Friday and plays the Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Huntingtown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Maryland (the Hurricanes are ranked 116th, while the Warriors are ranked 248th). As for McDonough, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the at 5:00 p.m. St. Charles has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
