Volleyball Recap: Richardson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Richardson lost against Pearce back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Mustangs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Richardson was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Pearce work for it, especially in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 24-26, 27-25.

Mackenzie Ratcliff paced Richardson's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ratcliff got some help from Mariajose Cordero and her 23 assists. Cordero was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Pearce got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Varner out in front who had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Varner has posted since back in August of 2024. Celia Martin was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

Richardson's defeat dropped their record down to 21-16. As for Pearce, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-11.

Richardson has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Berkner on the 17th. As for Pearce, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Lake Highlands on the 17th.
