Baseball Recap: Cheshire Academy Cats vs. Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans
Cheshire Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans by a score of 2-1.
Tyler Stone was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Dylan Kennedy-Fujah made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Breton, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.
The win got Loomis Chaffee School back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheshire Academy will challenge Berkshire School at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Loomis Chaffee School, they will head out on the road to take on Choate Rosemary Hall School at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Loomis Chaffee School and Choate Rosemary Hall School are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
