Recap: McClatchy vs. River City
The McClatchy Lions waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over River City. Two seems to be a good number for McClatchy as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Angel Mendoza-Ramirez and
Nathanial Ochoa, who scored both of McClatchy's goals. The pair have combined for a total of nine so far this season.
McClatchy's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those 11 games. As for River City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5-4.
McClatchy will be playing in front of their home fans against Gregori at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Gregori will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something McClatchy surely won't give up without a fight. River City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
