            Wake Forest extended their postseason success on Friday against Corinth Holders. They blew past the Pirates 7-1. The  victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won five in a row.

 Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Wake Forest secured the  win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was  Abbey Lauer, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
Wake Forest's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 5.5 runs. As for Corinth Holders, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
 Looking ahead, Wake Forest will face off against Willow Spring on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 7.3  runs per game this season. Corinth Holders does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
