Softball Game Preview: Delaware County Christian Knights vs. Plumstead Christian

The Delaware County Christian Knights will venture away from home to take on Plumstead Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Delaware County Christian has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 14.

Delaware County Christian lost 16-2 to Dock Mennonite on Friday.

Maryn D'Antonio was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Plumstead Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Faith Christian Academy, falling 11-2.

Plumstead Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Incudine, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Delaware County Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Plumstead Christian, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Delaware County Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Plumstead Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Delaware County Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Plumstead Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
