Chicago Mt. Carmel posted their closest win since May 31, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Marist RedHawks 8-6. The Caravan haven't had any issues with the RedHawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kolin Adams was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Adams was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Chicago Mt. Carmel got a great performance from Jake Matise as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Tj McQuillan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Logan Fernandez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Chicago Mt. Carmel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Chicago Mt. Carmel back to even at 4-4. As for Marist, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Chicago Mt. Carmel will be playing in front of their home fans against Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marist, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
