Softball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Pleasant Grove Vikings

For the second straight game, Lone Peak will face off against Pleasant Grove. The Knights will face off against the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Lone Peak has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lone Peak heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They lost 19-2 to Pleasant Grove. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Pleasant Grove's part, Allyson Young was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI Young has posted since back in March. Grace Norman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pleasant Grove lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lone Peak didn't launched any home runs.

Pleasant Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lone Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.
